How long have you been riding bikes for?
I’ve been riding bikes since I was 9, grade 4.

What was your first bike?
A SuperCycle from Canadian Tire. I think it was a 20″ Yellow frame with sissy bar and back pedal brake, a cheap Schwinn copy.

What was your favourite bike?
A Norco Rampage hardtail, slightly too small… XT 8-speed — best groupo ever!!, Marzocchi XCR fork, clipless pedals, Shimano shoes, Pearl Izumi shorts, Roach shorts.

What do you love about bikes?
I love fixing problems, and bikes have plenty of them.

How long in the bike business?
Since 1996.

What’s your favourite / Ride / Race / Trail / place?
Here — The Shore.

What do you love about the bike business?
The bike business has a ton of good people! We all want to see people riding bikes!

What are your top 3 skills related to working at Obsession?

1. I am always learning, I want to always be able to learn! I want to know everything!

2. I love fixing problems, and that is what my job at Obsession: Bikes lets me do!

3. I have the kind of memory that allows me to understand what works well with what. I remember the products of the past and how to keep them working at their best.

Why do you like working at Obsession: Bikes?
The above reasons, plus interacting with our customers is fun. I like to challenge and if they challenge me back — it’s the best!

If you were to travel on a bike anywhere in the world where would that be?
Bike Trip: from home (North Vancouver): to go to San Francisco, along the coast highway, take 2 months and just meander with a tent and sleeping bag.

Flight: fly to Tel Aviv (Israel), ride where I was posted, go to Egypt (pyramids), then Jordan (Petra), Syria (Damascus). Fly to Istanbul (Turkey), then ride to Athens (Greece) and hang out on the beach for a week!!!
